Boys and Girls Club
Cochran & Mann was very proud to partner with DAVIS Construction for the renovation of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Washington. This project was completed pro bono by all involved. It was an opportunity for Cochran & Mann to bring a high level of expertise in painting to bear on improvements to the administrative offices of the Boys & Girls Club.
The Cochran & Mann team was led by Charlie Dukes, Yovani Pineda, and David Castellanos. The 5,000 square feet space was painted entirely using donated materials from sponsors of the project, including the blue accent ceiling.
Towson University Science Complex
Facing challenges brought on by the pandemic, the Cochran & Mann team, led by Senior Project Manager Charlie Turrell, completed painting of the entire Towson University Science Complex. This included all 320,000 square feet of space throughout the five-story building dedicated to the study of science. Despite creating new safety protocols and plans overnight due to the onset of the pandemic, Cochran & Mann completed the Towson University Science Complex on time with their partners, Whiting-Turner Contracting Corporation.
PBS Offices
Cochran & Mann partnered with James G. Davis Construction in the remodel of the PBS Offices amid the COVID-19 pandemic. This led to supply challenges as wallpapers and other materials were sourced at times from around the world. The team persisted despite manufacturers opening and closing periodically due to the pandemic. With the hard work and dedication of the Cochran & Mann team, this five-and-a-half-story tenant space was completed beautifully.
This project was unique in highlighting the wallcovering abilities of the Cochran & Mann team. The five-floor building included an interconnected staircase with sound dampening felt wall pieces. In addition to interesting textures installed by the team, there was the painting of multiple offices, conference rooms, and collaborative spaces.
Cole Field House
It was an honor for Cochran & Mann to be a part of the historic Cole Field House transformation at the University of Maryland. As part of this enormous project to completely redesign the use and function of the Cole Field House, Cochran & Mann completed the painting and graphics for a new, cutting-edge look. The goal of completing the project’s first phase ahead of the recruitment season for future athletes was met with enormous success. Cochran & Mann then went on to successfully complete other aspects of the University of Maryland in a multi-phased partnership.
As stated by University of Maryland President, Wallace D. Loh, “The new Cole Field House is not just an important project for Maryland Athletics, it is a signature project for our entire institution. For our students, faculty, staff, and alumni, this project will be a point of pride, and a reminder of the world-class athletics, groundbreaking research and innovative academics here at the University of Maryland.”
International Spy Museum
Cochran & Mann took on the International Spy Museum, which was completed in three phases. The finished building is the talk of downtown D.C. with its bright colors and stunning design. It was challenging to complete the project while not disturbing surrounding businesses, however Cochran & Mann was proud to do their part in creating a successful outcome.
